Ceramic Alchemies: Shilha Cintelli at the Carlo Zauli Museum

The Carlo Zauli Museum in Faenza hosts “Ceramic Alchemies”, a solo exhibition by the Empoli-based artist Shilha Cintelli. An exhibition path that intertwines philosophy, science, and matter, creating a profound dialogue between contemporary art and the legacy of the master Zauli.

    Inauguration: Saturday, April 18th, 2026, at 6:30 PMPeriod: April 18th – May 24th, 2026

Location: Museo Carlo Zauli, Via della Croce 6, Faenza

The Work and the Concept

The heart of the exhibition is the installation “Called to perform an act of transformation along the transit of apparent duality / Cluster (2024)”. Inspired by Feuerbach’s famous reflection “man is what he eats”, the work investigates the bond between nourishment, identity, and inner transformation through the symbol of the Enneagram.

The exhibition is enriched by two unique moments of dialogue:

  • Scientific Dialogue: A contribution by researcher Caterina Dinnella (University of Florence) regarding individual response to food as an element of identity.
  • Artistic Dialogue: A site-specific work by Cintelli consisting of three cubes (black, gold, terracotta) will interact with Carlo Zauli’s famous “Primario Esploso”, symbolically completing the four alchemical phases.

Who is Shilha Cintelli

Since 2018, she has collaborated with the Museum of Ceramics in Montelupo, and in 2021 she co-founded the independent project IMBOSCATA, which brings contemporary art into forest ecosystems. Her artistic practice searches for traces of human existence, merging perfect geometries with natural elements.
