La Musica nelle Aie 2026: Balí Burdèl! at the Castel Raniero Folk Festival
From May 8th to 10th, 2026, the hills of Faenza will vibrate once again with La Musica nelle Aie. This year’s invitation is “BALÍ BURDÈL!”, an exhortation for free and harmonious movement that transforms the bucolic landscape of Castel Raniero into an open-air folk stage.
The Event: Three days of concerts, traditional dances, cultural encounters, and the famous musical competition hosting artists from all over Italy, organized by Castel Raniero APS.
📅 Weekend Program
Friday, May 8th
- 7:30 PM: “Zuppa-Folk-Imperiale” DJ set with Dj Gumbo (Federico Savini).
- 9:00 PM: Concert by Radìs: the historic Romagnolo combat folk group returns to the stage for a landmark event.
Saturday, May 9th
- Dawn (Aia della Contemplazione): Musical awakening between the Balkans and the Middle East with the Karagunes Trio.
- 2:00 PM (Sports Field): Tribute to Aldo Spallicci (140 years since his birth) with Susanna Venturi and the Canterini Romagnoli Pratella Martuzzi.
- 4:00 PM (Prato della Colonia): Romagna in Fiore (Ravenna Festival) presents MOTTA in concert (10th anniversary tour of “La Fine dei Vent’Anni”).
- 6:00 PM (Dance Music): Pizzica with Lunanoa (Sports Field), Irish dances with the Trì (Colonia), “balli staccati” with La Carampana (Le Vernazze).
- 9:00 PM: Balfolk with Trad Plus Duo (Le Vernazze), Cuban music with Roberto Matos y el Son de Amigos (Colonia), folk songwriting with La Compagnia Scapestrati (Sports Field).
Sunday, May 10th
- 11:00 AM (Aia della Contemplazione): “Tantse mishpokhe”, Yiddish music with Miriam Camerini and Ozgur Karagunes.
- Afternoon: “Musica nelle Aie” Musical Competition (18 groups performing along the route).
- Late Afternoon: Marching Band from the “Sarti” School and concert by Musicanti Improvvisi (Sports Field).
- Post-Awards: “Trebbo Musicale” (Improvised Jam Session) open to all musicians.
