“Ceramics, Design, Architecture and Female Figures for Happy Living”
Art, design, and architecture take on a feminine perspective in a major cultural event in the heart of Faenza. Tuesday, July 7, 2026, starting at 9:00 PM, the evocative setting of Piazza Nenni will host the event entitled “Ceramics, Design, Architecture and Female Figures for Happy Living”. Conceived and coordinated by IN/Arch Emilia-Romagna, the event is held under the prestigious patronage of the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservators of the Province of Ravenna.
The Theme: Contrasting Perspectives and Aesthetic Languages
The central focus of the event explores the visions and artistic languages of two remarkable multidisciplinary figures, characterized by strongly contrasting styles yet equally capable of shaping matter:
- ⚫⚪ Wanda Berasi, known as “Muky” – Explored through the rigor of line, conceptual synthesis, and the striking use of black and white.
- Maria Christina Hamel – Distinguished by chromatic vitality, the energy of vivid colors, and a powerful expressive dynamism.
The Speakers and Performances
The evening will unfold through a dynamic format, alternating institutional greetings, critical discussions, and live performances:
- ️ Welcome and Introduction: Architect Luca Frontali (President of the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservators of Ravenna) and Architect Gioia Gattamorta (President of IN/Arch Emilia-Romagna).
- ️ First-hand Testimony: Designer Maria Christina Hamel will share her creative process, positioned between art and prototyping.
- Art Criticism: The artistic and cultural legacy of Muky will be presented and examined by Claudia Casali, Director of the MIC (International Museum of Ceramics) in Faenza.
- Sensory Interludes: The discussions will be interspersed with performances and choreography by the dancers of Faenz’a Danza (curated by Federica Zani), designed to connect body movement with projected images of the artworks.
