The Origins of Modern Palliative Care: a Training and Experiential Event in Faenza
A training and experiential event exploring the origins of modern palliative care through words, images and theatrical performance. The event traces the birth of an approach to care that has profoundly influenced the history of palliative care.
Through a theatrical play by biographer David Clark, the conversations between the young Cicely Saunders and David Tasma, the first founding patient, come to life again. Their encounter contributed to the creation of St Christopher’s Hospice in London in 1967.
The event is organised by La Rete Locale Cure Palliative Ravenna – AUSL Romagna and the Associazione Sul Sentiero di Cicely, with the patronage of the Municipality of Faenza.
