“Directed by Manfrediana””: Three Film Criticism Meetings at the Library
Great nonfiction and film analysis return to the heart of Faenza with the new edition of “Directed by Manfrediana — Reading Films in the Library”. The festival, promoted in close collaboration with Filmmeetings, offers a series of completely free summer events with free admission.
Three Outsiders of Contemporary Cinema
This year’s program is a true journey of in-depth film criticism focused on the poetics and stylistic signatures of three iconic directors and “outsiders” of the international film scene. Guiding the audience in the analysis and interpretation of the sequences will be Andrea Valmori, critic and curator of the renowned NOAM Faenza Film Festival.
Each meeting will take place in the late afternoon in the library, and at the end of the critical analysis, all attendees will be offered a pleasant convivial aperitif.

All meetings will begin regularly at 6:30 PM and end at approximately 7:30 PM:

* Author of analysis: Focus on the themes of identity, gender, and gaze in the cinema of Céline Sciamma. - Tuesday, July 21, 2026
* Author of analysis: Analysis of the pop, intimate, and visceral language that characterizes the cinema of Xavier Dolan.
