August 2026 Events at Palazzo Milzetti
Throughout August, Palazzo Milzetti – National Museum of the Neoclassical Age in Romagna presents a rich programme of cultural events, themed guided tours and major contemporary art exhibitions connected to Faenza’s renowned ceramic tradition.
Event Programme (August 2026)
️ Sunday, 2 August – #DOMENICALMUSEO
- ⏰ Opening hours: From 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm (last admission at 5:45 pm).
- ️ Admission: Free for all visitors as part of the Italian Ministry of Culture initiative offering free entry to state museums on the first Sunday of every month.
☀️ Saturday, 15 August – Ferragosto at Palazzo Milzetti
- ⏰ Opening hours: From 9:00 am to 6:30 pm.
- ️ 4:30 pm – Themed guided tour: Led by the Museum Education Department. The tour explores the historical origins of the Ferragosto holiday, drawing parallels between ancient pagan celebrations and modern traditions, with a special focus on the iconography created by Felice Giani throughout the palace.
- ️ Admission: The guided tour is included in the regular museum admission ticket (free for Milzetti Card holders).
Monday, 31 August – Opening of the Exhibition “PRESENCES” by Alessandro Roma
- ⏰ Opening ceremony: 5:00 pm (Museum opening hours: 9:00 am – 6:30 pm).
- ️ Exhibition dates: From 1 September to 11 October 2026.
- About the exhibition: Presented as part of Argillà Italia 2026 (International Ceramics Festival), in collaboration with the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza (MIC) and curated by Domenico Iaracà. The solo exhibition by Milan-based artist Alessandro Roma explores nature as a living presence, creating a dialogue between ceramics, collages, sculptures and textile prints and the palace’s Neoclassical decorations and frescoes. The works have been created in collaboration with renowned artisan workshops including Bottega Gatti, Bottega Lega, Bottega Vignoli, Pantoù Ceramics, Elvira Keller, Ceramiche Mazzotti and Ceramiche d’Arte Dolfi.

Regular Opening Hours
- Monday to Saturday and public holidays: 9:00 am – 6:30 pm (last admission at 5:45 pm).
- ☀️ Sunday: 1:30 pm – 6:30 pm (last admission at 5:45 pm).
- Special openings: Sunday morning openings from 9:00 am can be arranged for groups of at least 15 people by sending a request in advance to mn-bo.pamilzetti-ra@cultura.gov.it.
Cards and Memberships
- Milzetti Card: Annual membership providing unlimited free admission to the museum and its events for one year (€10 full price / €4 reduced).
- ️ FaenzaMuseiCard: Issued free of charge with the purchase of a full-price ticket at one of the museums in the circuit (Palazzo Milzetti, MIC or the Municipal Art Gallery). It grants a €2 discount on admission to each of the other two museums if visited within three days of issue.
