“Erbario Sentimentale”: Monica Zauli presents her new book at the Carlo Zauli Museum
As part of the cultural program “Padiglione Estate 2026”, the Carlo Zauli Museum in Faenza hosts a new literary event. On Friday, June 12, 2026, at 6:30 PM, Faenza-born author and architect Monica Zauli will present her latest literary work, “Erbario Sentimentale”, published by Polaris Editore.
Botany, autobiography, and moods
The volume is a work in which botanical science, autobiographical narration, and literary sensitivity blend in an intimate and transcontinental tale. “Erbario Sentimentale” is structured like a catalog of emotions: it collects texts dedicated to universal feelings such as love, fear, anger, nostalgia, generosity, and passion.
Each of these states of mind is evoked through the encounter with a specific plant, flower, or tree that the author has encountered during her extensive travels and personal experiences around the world. The work thus becomes a profound invitation to look at the plant kingdom not as a mere decorative backdrop to the landscape, but as a set of companions in existence and discreet witnesses to our inner experiences.
The Author: Monica Zauli
Born in Faenza, Monica Zauli has lived and worked in major international cultural centers including Florence, Paris, Luxembourg, and Japan. A graduate in Architecture, she has dedicated herself for years to the design of structures and gardens. Daughter of the renowned sculptor Carlo Zauli, she has served as Vice President of the Faenza museum since 2002, coordinating the archive, exhibitions, and creative workshops that intertwine ceramics with nature. She has already published several successful volumes dedicated to the connection between travel and the natural world, including “Suggestioni Laviche,” “Della stessa natura,” “Sfalci e Ramaglie,” and the recent “Vegetale Umano” (2023).
