Save the date: on the second and third weekends of October, the Forgotten Fruits and Casola Valsenio Chestnut Festival returns.
Here you can discover the local short supply chain up close and experience traditional farming heritage through food stalls with themed menus, farmers' markets, tastings, cooking workshops, exhibitions, and performances that bring the rural traditions of the past back to life.
The Festival is a unique event, a journey through the flavours and ancient varieties that our region has preserved over time.
Strawberry tree berries, cornelian cherries, jujubes, wild pears, azaroles, rose hips, medlars, service fruits, wild herbs, and many other ancient fruits take centre stage in this unmissable event, renowned for its commitment to zero-mile produce and biodiversity conservation.
A special area is dedicated to the Casola Valsenio chestnut, whose sweet flavour makes it one of the highlights of the local cuisine in this part of the Apennines.
