Festa delle Associazioni (Community Associations Fair) in Piazza del Popolo
On Sunday 20 September 2026, in the afternoon, over 40 local organisations bring Piazza del Popolo in Faenza to life for the 2026 edition of the Festa delle Associazioni, an event promoted by the Consulta del Volontariato dell’Unione della Romagna Faentina (Volunteering Council of the Unione Romagna Faentina) together with local organisations. This year’s theme is “Meglio riusare che buttare” (Better to Reuse than to Throw Away), the common thread running through a day dedicated to participation, community and the value of volunteering.
The event runs from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, featuring information stands and activities for all ages.
Programme of the Day
- From 3:00 PM: information stands run by local associations, the Ludobus mobile play unit and wooden games courtesy of cooperative Kaleidos, face painting, and a road safety course by association Faenza per Te.
- 4:30 – 5:30 PM: “Reading per la Palestina”, an hour of readings and reflections organised by association SOS Donna.
- From 4:30 PM: an obstacle course for adults and young people focused on accessibility, part of initiatives connected to the PEBA – Plan for the Elimination of Architectural Barriers.
- Throughout the day: a live painting session by artist Amissao Lima.
- Around 5:30 PM: an official moment with greetings from local authorities.
“The Festa del Volontariato is an important event for our community, a moment to celebrate the daily contribution of so many social organisations and give citizens the chance to get closer to community engagement,” said Maurizio Bertoni, president of the Consulta del Volontariato.
“Volunteering is a fundamental resource for our social fabric,” said Davide Agresti, the councillor responsible for Welfare, highlighting how the event strengthens the network between the administration, third-sector organisations and citizens, while promoting themes such as sustainability, a culture of reuse, and full accessibility of urban spaces.
