“Forum Faventia 2026” & the 21st Crazy Chariot Race at Rione Verde
Saturday, August 29, 2026, Faenza takes a journey back in time to the year 39 AD with the historical reenactment “Forum Faventia”. Organised in collaboration with Foris Portam, the event will bring Via Cavour and Parco Tassinari to life with historical camps, gladiator shows, historical battles and ancient Roman cuisine.
The highlight of the evening will be the 21st edition of the “Crazy Chariot Race”, a fun and sporting competition open to local associations and sports clubs.
Evening Programme (Saturday, August 29, 2026)
- 🏛️ 6:00 pm: Gathering of historical reenactment groups and competing teams in Via Cavour / Parco Tassinari. Educational workshops and combat demonstrations begin.
- 🍖 7:00 pm: Opening of the food stand at Parco Tassinari, featuring dishes and recipes inspired by Ancient Rome.
- 🎺 7:30 pm: Historical parade featuring reenactors, teams and characters in Roman costume departing for Piazza del Popolo.
- ⚔️ 8:30 pm: Historical battle reenactments (Romans vs. Gauls), with narration and gladiator shows.
- 🐎 9:15 pm – 21st CRAZY CHARIOT RACE: Team competition held at the Rione Verde headquarters.
- 🎶 10:00 pm: Live musical entertainment with Symphoniaci Lūci.
“Chariot Race” Rules and Prizes
- 👥 Team composition: Each team must consist of 3 people representing an association or sports club. The chariot will be provided directly by the organisers.
- 💰 Prize: A final prize of €900.00 for the winning team.
- ⚠️ Participation: Registration is required; the number of teams admitted is limited.
