The exhibition
“Losing Cultural Landscapes” is a section of the artistic project Ghost Landscapes, launched by Giorgia Severi in 2016 and dedicated to building a continuously evolving archive of places with cultural, natural, and political significance, now undergoing transformation due to climatic, geological, and human factors.
The project focuses in particular on Romagna, the artist’s place of origin, and on rural architectures and natural elements that have shaped its landscape, cultural identity, and economy.
Trees, fields, agricultural structures, and traces of the rural landscape become narrative tools through which to explore the relationship between territory, memory, and transformation.
The artist acts as a storyteller and interpreter of a living cultural heritage, where past and present intertwine in the search for the identity roots of the landscape.
