On Foot in the “Moonstone” Park
The Vena del Gesso Romagnola Regional Park is a true “crystal giant,” with a ridge extending for about 25 km through valleys and unique natural environments.
The excursion starts from Crivellari, a 13th-century village built of gypsum and flint, and follows the evocative Crystal Trail.
We will cross ancient Roman-era quarries and reach the ridges of Monte Mauro and Monte della Volpe, on a route that blends geology, history, and landscape into an immersive, timeless experience.

The “Moonstone” Park 2026
A calendar of guided excursions to discover the Vena del Gesso Romagnola, a unique landscape where nature, geology, and history are deeply intertwined.
Just a few kilometers from the Romagna plain, between Imola and Faenza, the Park offers safe and accessible experiences thanks to official guides selected by the Management Authority for Parks and Biodiversity - Romagna.
A natural heritage of international value, recognized in 2023 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site within the serial property “Karst and Caves in the Evaporites of the Northern Apennines - EKCNA”.
The program includes excursions for different difficulty levels and, on some dates, also tastings of local traditional products.
An opportunity to experience the territory authentically, among spectacular landscapes and the stories of those who know it deeply.

- Adults: €15.00 full day / €10.00 half day
- Children 6–12 years: €5.00
- Minimum 6 participants, maximum 20
- Hiking shoes with treaded soles are mandatory
- Technical clothing and trekking poles recommended
- Registration required by the day before
