Il circo capovolto (The Upside-Down Circus): A Roma Family’s Story with Teatro delle Temperie
On Friday 27 November 2026, at 9:00 PM, the Casa del Teatro in Faenza hosts “Il circo capovolto”, written and performed by Andrea Lupo, directed by Andrea Paolucci, lighting by Andrea Bondi, a Teatro delle Temperie production and winner at the 2017 Roma Fringe Festival (Best Actor, Audience Award, Best Dramaturgy). Recommended age: 13 to 19.
Two intertwined stories, those of Branko and his grandfather Nap’apò, two generations of Roma: one ended up in concentration camps, the other in Roma camps on city outskirts. Branko, fleeing Hungary, takes refuge in a Roma camp in Italy with ten boxes holding what remains of the family circus, destroyed by the Nazis. When seven children make him tell its story, a new underground circus is born: an upside-down circus.
