From 20 March to 1 November 2027 the MIC hosts “Fausto Melotti and 1950s Ceramic Art”, devoted to the vibrant post-war art scene, when ceramics and ceramic sculpture took part in rebuilding the city’s spaces, architecture and interiors.
Fausto Melotti takes centre stage as the interpreter of a new poetic vision of matter in sculpture and architecture. Alongside him are the most significant authors of Italy’s artistic rebirth, with works such as Guido Gambone’s large installation for a Florentine interior, Pietro Melandri’s panels for a Sicilian building and Antonia Campi’s frieze for the 1951 Milan Triennale. Among others: Caruso, Cascella, Fabbri, Fontana, Jorn, Meli, Muky Matteucci, Pianezzola, Scanavino, Tasca, Valentini and Zauli.
