June in the Rione Verde: food and wine, sports, and major events in the Cloister in Faenza
The month of the Palio also lights up in the Rione Verde of Faenza. Throughout the period of these historic events, the splendid district cloister transforms into a hub for culinary gatherings and entertainment.
Every evening, the kitchen is open from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM (even in bad weather) with typical Romagna dishes, wood-fired pizza, and daily specials. Shows begin at 9:00 PM, and for families, workshops and face painting by Glorietta are available every evening.
1. Bigorda Week (June 8th to 14th)
Handmade spaghetti alla chitarra, grilled meat, and a rich program to prepare for the first joust of the year:
- Monday, June 8th: Entertainment and revival music with the Trio Italiano.
- Tuesday, June 9th: Special gastronomic evening dedicated to Arrosticini. On the sporting front, the GreenTa Run will take place, a non-competitive 11 km run and 5 km walk through the Porta Montanara area. Registration is at 6:30 PM, the start is at 7:30 PM, and there will be a final Pasta Party for all participants. On stage, starting at 7:00 PM, the conference “Stable Stories – Excellence and Traditions of the Palio” will be held.
- Wednesday, June 10 (starting at 9:00 PM): First appointment with Verde Caliente, the great evening of Caribbean dances (salsa, bachata, reggaeton, and group dances) led by DJ Markino.
- Thursday, June 11: Evening dedicated to traditional Romagna dances with the Comete di Romagna, in collaboration with Gian Paolo and Mila danze.
- Friday, June 12 (8:30 PM): Propitiatory Dinner at the 27th Bigorda d’Oro Tournament, open to all by reservation, followed by an engaging DJ Sep.
- Sunday, June 14: Charity event “A Green Heartbeat for (yes) STARE INSIEME”, a fundraising lunch to purchase an automatic defibrillator for the neighborhood. From 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the celebration continues at Tassinari Park with the “Happy Birthday Oriano” event.
2. Flag Week (June 15 to 19)
Exquisite handmade first courses, grilled specialties, and cultural and musical themed evenings:
- Monday, June 15: Gastronomic evening with spaghetti allo scoglio (available by reservation only). The spotlight will be on the stage at Faenza Rock nei Rioni with performances by Sara Ghinassi, Metamorfeo, Moleste Frequenze, and Buoni Motivi; guest of honor will be Fabio Mongardi.
- Tuesday, June 16: The delicious Arrosticini Evening returns. Before dinner, at 7:00 PM, a historically themed conference, “Stories and Secrets of the Palio Characters,” will be held on stage.
- Wednesday, June 17 (starting at 9:00 PM): Second Latin American rhythms by Verde Caliente with DJ Markino.
- Thursday, June 18: Live music and pop-rock hits performed by Gabriele Andrini’s Gabry live music.
- Friday, June 19: The atmosphere of the Cloister is tinged with sophisticated sounds with the Progressive Rock evening curated by the group Favole e Veleno.
3. Palio Week (June 22nd to 27th)
The culmination of the neighborhood celebrations leading up to the centuries-old Niballo challenge:
- Monday, June 22nd: Spaghetti allo scoglio returns to the table (reservations only). Starting at 9:00 PM, the 4th edition of the Palio dell’Acqua comes to life along Via Cavour, a fun and playful wheeled challenge aboard bizarre, unmotorized vehicles (teams can register directly on-site that evening).
- Tuesday, June 23rd: Third appointment with the Arrosticini Evening. From 7:00 PM, there’s time for cultural exploration on stage with “Female Memory – Faces and Stories of Our District.” Meanwhile, at the Santa Maria Vecchia court, the spotlight will be on Open Court, an evening entirely dedicated to basketball tournaments under the stars.
- Wednesday, June 24th (starting at 9:00 PM): Last monthly appointment with the great Caribbean party Verde Caliente hosted by DJ Markino.
- Thursday, June 25th (9:30 PM): Interactive fun awaits with the quiz game show Bòta Show 2026, il gioco a premi più fresco dell’estate.
- Venerdì 26 giugno (ore 21:30): Presso gli spazi del GreenTa Bar si disputa il goliardico Torneo di Beer Pong (mira, lancia, vinci); iscrizioni aperte direttamente alla cassa la sera dell’evento.
- Sabato 27 giugno (ore 20:30): La solenne Cena Propiziatoria al 69° Niballo Palio di Faenza. L’evento è aperto a tutti previa prenotazione obbligatoria e si concluderà con il grande DJ Set firmato da Daniele Tigli.
