L’ombra perduta di Peter Schlemihl, with Marco Baliani
On Tuesday 23 February 2027, at 9:00 PM, Casa del Teatro in Faenza (Via Oberdan 7) presents “L’ombra perduta di Peter Schlemihl” (Peter Schlemihl’s Lost Shadow), written and performed by Marco Baliani, sound and light dramaturgy by Mirto Baliani, directed by Maria Maglietta, produced by Casa degli Alfieri, Accademia Perduta/Romagna Teatri and Tib Teatro.
Inspired by Adelbert von Chamisso’s classic tale “The Wonderful History of Peter Schlemihl”, the show follows young Peter, who trades away his own shadow for unlimited wealth, a bargain that turns out to be a trap shaping the rest of his life. A story about the harsh passage from youth to adulthood, when hope for the future collides with the ruthlessness of the present.
The production plays on the contrast between light and shadow, where sound and light continuously transform into one another alongside the narration, shifting the audience’s attention from eye to ear and inviting them to “imagine by listening”.
