L’uomo, la bestia e la virtù, by Luigi Pirandello
On Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 April 2027, at 9:00 PM, Teatro San Giuseppe in Faenza (Via Tomaso Dal Pozzo 19) presents “L’uomo, la bestia e la virtù” (Man, Beast and Virtue), by Luigi Pirandello, adapted and directed by Roberto Valerio, with Vanessa Gravina, Max Malatesta and Nicola Riganese, produced by Teatri di Pistoia Centro di Produzione Teatrale in collaboration with Teatro Nuovo Giovanni da Udine.
One of Pirandello’s most unusual and grotesque plays: Professor Paolino, Mrs. Perella and her long-voyage sea-captain husband are the protagonists of a classic love triangle that, thrown off balance by an unexpected pregnancy, spirals into a tragicomedy about hypocrisy, respectability and the desperate need to keep up appearances — themes that, a century on, still ring true today.
