Bottega Bertaccini Reopens in Faenza
Bottega Bertaccini has reopened at Corso Garibaldi 3, Faenza,
in a smaller space but driven by the same desire to create a place of encounter,
knowledge, exchange and community.
The first event in the new life of the bookshop will feature Ileana Montini.
Her latest publication Nicola Negretti e la sua compagna (Graphofeel Editore)
will be presented on Saturday 6 June 2026 at 5:30 PM, in conversation with
Antonella Baccarini.
With the participation of Otello Galassi.
The Book
Nicola Negretti, born in 1940 in the province of Brescia, was a priest of
the Filippini Fathers of Peace, a worker-priest among migrants in Germany and Italy, before
dedicating himself to psychotherapy and social activism in Brescia. The volume, written by
his partner Ileana Montini, traces his life by interweaving spirituality,
intellectual inquiry and a strong commitment to the most vulnerable, painting a portrait that
spans decades of Italian history.
The story told is that of Nicola and, at the same time, of his partner Ileana Montini.
Alongside him, a host of individuals: ordinary men and women, high-ranking clergy,
intellectuals and controversial figures, the Christian Democracy party and the Vatican,
successful psychoanalysts and underpaid workers. A surprising journey into one person’s
inner world and, at the same time, a cross-section of Italian history, the biography of
Nicola Negretti stays with the reader long after the last page.
The Author
Ileana Montini has worked as a teacher, sociologist, psycho-pedagogy
specialist and psychotherapist. As a journalist she has contributed to several newspapers
and periodicals including il Manifesto, École, Noi Donne,
Nuova Ecologia and Com Nuovi Tempi (Confronti). She was a leader of
the Women’s Movement of the Christian Democracy party, and later an activist in the PDUP,
the ecology movement and the feminist movement.
