Membrane Culturali – Milzetti in Danza: “ZugZwang” at Palazzo Milzetti
On Saturday 10 October 2026, at 8:30 PM, as part of Palazzo Milzetti’s extraordinary evening opening, “ZugZwang” is staged, curated by Elisabetta Lauro and Gennaro Andrea Lauro, a production by Sosta Palmizi, Compagnie Meta (France) and Cuenca/Lauro (Germany), part of the Membrane Culturali – Milzetti in Danza series.
The performance stages a game of chess in which the player realises he is not directing the game but is part of it: the constraining logic of the chessboard takes precedence over freedom of action, and it is precisely in “zugzwang” — the condition where every move is forced — that the player understands every action he takes has always been an exercise in memory.
