“Nio Far – Doing It Together”: Screening and Talk on Women’s Community Ceramics in Casamance
On Sunday 6 September 2026, the Carlo Zauli Museum will host a screening of the documentary film “Nio Far – Doing It Together. Community Ceramics by Women in Casamance”, followed by a meeting with the filmmakers and authors.
The film documents an exchange experience between the women of Bagadadji village in Senegal – custodians of the centuries-old tradition of producing large terracotta canarins for water storage – and artists Stefania Spanedda and Silvana Li Pira of the MessyLab Ceramics Collective. Curated by the Municipality of Casalborgone and the CasaBio Training Centre, the project promotes a dialogue between cultures, generations and technical skills, with the aim of preserving traditional production while encouraging its commercial development.
