"Violet Night 2026" in Casola Valsenio: the complete program of lavender, music, and flavors
Saturday, June 27, 2026, the hilltop village of Casola Valsenio, in the Faenza Apennines, will be entirely tinged with purple. The traditional "Violet Night" is back, a large, widespread celebration organized by the Pro Loco di Casola Valsenio and the Hill Party Staff (HPS), designed to celebrate the flowering of lavender and the local medicinal herbs through a rich program of events, workshops, themed gastronomy, and great musical guests.
The Day's Program (Saturday, June 27, 2026)
Lavender Day at the Herb Garden
The celebrations begin in the morning at the renowned A. Rinaldi Ceroni Herb Garden with events dedicated to wellness and botanical discovery:
- 10:00 am and 3:00 pm: Guided botanical tours among the rows of vines in flower.
- 11:00 AM: The unmissable Violet Aperitif surrounded by nature.
- 5:00 PM: Violet Snack inside the park.
- 6:30 PM: Celebration of Holy Mass.
Violet Night in the Historic Center (starting at 6:00 PM)
From late afternoon, the celebration moves to the squares and streets of the town center:
- Violet Night Market: Stalls selling crafts, typical products, and themed items.
- Make-up & Photography: Adult Makeup Space with Marilena for elegant or sensual makeup coordinated with the evening, lavender-themed photography exhibitions throughout the venues, and an impromptu art show curated by Andrea Ragazzini at the Artist's Workshop.
- The Great Aperitif & Ice Cream: Personalized lavender-based drinks offered by the Hill Party Staff and the Central Bar, accompanied by the signature artisanal Purple Gelato prepared by the "La Cremeria" and "Senio" ice cream parlors.
- Dinner in the Square (from 7:00 PM): Food stands in the heart of the village, curated by the Pro Loco, to discover the original "Purple Plate."
- 8:00 PM (Piazza Sasdelli) – Purple Walk: Evocative evening walking tour through the town streets. Participants will be provided with wireless headphones to listen to instructions, exercises, and narration, surrounded by scenic purple lights. Organized by Nuova Arte Danza A.S.D. (Participation fee €15.00, limited seating with reservations required at 349 6302465).
The Great Concerts and Live Show (starting at 9:00 PM)
The central stage lights up for a long night of music and entertainment with an exceptional lineup:
- Los Cuarenta / Radio Italia Network: The famous radio dance format arrives in the hills.
- DJ Set: Musical direction entrusted to Robert-eno Relight (Robertino Relight).
- Vocalist: The energy and voice of Isa B.
- Live Show: The highly anticipated live concert by international pop star NEJA, queen of dance music.
- Cocktails, street food, and appetizers will continue to be served until late at night.
Creative Workshops (From 7:00 PM)
Various tables and workshop stations dedicated to manual skills will be set up along the streets of the center:
- The Sounds of the Earth: Manual workshop to create a magical natural wind chime by combining twigs, seeds, and leaves. Led by Mother Tincture.
- Aromatic Essences: Workshop to explore the world of essential oils and create a personalized natural perfume using lavender hydrolate. Organized by Atlantide (Bookings can be made directly on-site, cost €5.00 at the Herb Garden booth).
- Rocche and Dolls: Creation of traditional woven objects using spindles and fresh lavender flowers.
Note in case of bad weather: In case of adverse weather conditions, the entire event will be postponed to Saturday, July 4, 2026 (the program may be subject to slight logistical changes in this case).
