ULYSSES / Sound Explorations – 3rd Edition: “Refractions”
From Friday 11 to Sunday 13 September 2026, the Arena Borghesi in Faenza will host the third edition of ULYSSES / Sound Explorations, entitled “Refractions”. Curated by the G. Fattorini APS Association as part of the Contrasti Armonici series, the festival brings together contemporary musical research with visual, performing and dance arts.
Over three evenings, concerts, screenings, storytelling and installations will transform the Arena into a space for experimentation and shared listening. Throughout the festival, the photographic installation connected to the Who is the Artist? project will also be open to visitors in the garden.
Programme for Friday 11 September 2026
- 9:00 pm – Storytelling and Theatre:
- Prologue: Cantèda de Caval from Tonino Guerra’s Odiséa, with Denis Campitelli (actor and theatre author).
- Resonant Narratives: Alessia Scilipoti (flute) and Agnese Sofia Bonato (spoken voice).
- Epilogue: Cantèda ad Penelope from Tonino Guerra’s Odiséa, with Denis Campitelli.
- 10:00 pm – Screening: Screening of Who is the Artist? (curated by Ilaria Roncacè, Luca Guarino and Angelo Verna – with the patronage of ISIA Faenza).

- 9:00 pm – Live Performance: Riccardo La Foresta (Drummophone).
- 9:45 pm – Live Performance: Alessandro Santacaterina (chitarra battente, live electronics).
- 10:30 pm – DJ Set / Music Selection: Ascolti notturni, a music selection curated by Casa del disco.

- 7:30 pm – Sound Architecture: Performance and composition by Agnese Banti, sound engineering by Andrea Trona.
