The MaAB is dedicated to a distinguished citizen of Castel Bolognese, the sculptor and ceramist Angelo Biancini, born in 1911.
In 1994, his hometown honored him with the large exhibition "The Forms of Sculpture," which showcased both large and small works by the artist in the most significant locations of the town center. This exhibition led to the creation of the Museum, a permanent open-air display and a cultural itinerary that allows visitors to explore Biancini’s intimate themes throughout his artistic career from the 1930s to the 1980s.
The collection includes the moving group I Derelitti (1942), dedicated to civilian victims of war and preserved in the courtyard of Palazzo Mengoni, the Donne Eroiche (1961), and the poignant Mondina Romagnola (1972).
