“Companatico”: a shared, locally sourced picnic dinner at Mita Park in Faenza
The Slow Food Romagna Lamone conviviality, in close collaboration with the Casa Mita Social Center, is organizing a summer event entirely focused on conviviality and food sustainability. On Friday, July 3, 2026, starting at 8:30 PM, the lawn of Mita Park in Faenza will host “Companatico,” a large, collective outdoor dinner structured around the principle of sharing food.
The event’s philosophy fully embraces the three cornerstones of the Slow Food movement: good, clean, and fair, inviting all participants to rediscover the importance of seasonal raw materials and short-chain products. (km0).
How the dinner works and what to bring from home
The evening’s format is that of a self-organized and shared picnic. To best participate and fully respect the environment, the organizers ask each participant to follow these simple guidelines:
- What to cook: Bring a ready-to-eat dish or meal from home and share with the table or with neighbors, favoring seasonal and local ingredients.
- ️ The tag: It is essential to prepare and place next to your dish a small handwritten tag that clearly lists all the ingredients used (for safety and transparency for those with allergies or intolerances).
- ️ Zero Waste Kit: Don’t forget to bring your own dish, fork, glass (preferably non-disposable), and a plaid or blanket to sit comfortably on the park grass.
- The evening’s contest: At the end of the dinner, a special internal committee will officially award the recipe and dish deemed “slowest” for originality, supply chain, and respect for the evening’s principles.
The special pairing: To accompany the dishes brought by the guests, there will be a special tasting of artisanal honey kombucha, prepared and explained on-site by naturopath Izabella Farkas.
