Il Roccolo Agricultural Farm is located on the hills of "La Serra," a few miles from Castel Bolognese, in an area favored since Roman times for its excellent exposure and mild climate.
The farm is named after an ancient "Roccolo"—a traditional structure once used for bird catching and discontinued in the 1960s. The estate still preserves the "Casello" (the lookout tower) and the "tondo," a picturesque panoramic meadow overlooking the Romagna countryside. Immersed in greenery, the farm maintains a significant portion of its land as woodland to protect local biodiversity, while its organically managed fields produce pomegranates, apricots, plums, cherries, and berries used for artisanal juices, preserves, and honey.
Experiences and hospitality
Beyond its agricultural production, Il Roccolo is a vibrant Educational Farm that promotes wellness and reconnection with nature through creative workshops. Among its most unique offerings is the "Painting and Nature" laboratory, where participants learn to extract natural dyes from the farm's fruits to paint outdoors, inspired by the seasonal changes of the landscape. The farm, which is also home to various animals and hosts summer camps for children, offers direct sales at its headquarters on Via Cornacchia.
It is an ideal destination for families and groups wishing to discover the authentic rhythms of the land in a panoramic setting of rare beauty between the Senio and Gesso valleys.
